Tannoy scales the heights in Dubai

12 March 2010
Story Code : aa22

Tannoy CMS Series loudspeakers are an integral part of the AV set-up at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Now acknowledged as the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa was developed with an emphasis on high-quality technology - a focus that led project acoustic and ELV consultants PMK International to specify Tannoy loudspeakers.

In fact, Tannoy's in-ceiling and in-wall loudspeakers are to be found on almost every one of the building's 160 habitable floors. More than 5,000 CMS Series in-ceiling and 1,000-plus IW Series in-wall speakers have been installed to provide audio coverage in lobbies, corridors, terraces and reception areas, with specific units including the CMS 501PI (which features a separate pre-install back can) and the large-format high-power in-ceiling system CMS 801DC.

While PMK International designed and specified the sound requirements for the historic project, the actual installation was carried out by Bond Communications.
