The IDA8 networked PA-VA system from Ateis has been embraced by Fourway Communications as the hub of a number of major rail sector projects, including the new Paddington Underground station (pictured).

King Cross St. Pancras and Reading Station are among the other facilities that have been, or will be, equipped with the IDA8. The installations continue Ateis’ long association with the rail sector.

After years of development to provide a VA system that is ‘infinitely’ configurable, easy to install and fully compliant, the IDA8 is the result: a one-box solution designed to suit a variety of safety critical environments.

Richard Osborne, senior design manager at Fourway Communications, commented: “The selection of a manufacturer of a safety critical system of this nature requires careful consideration. In our evaluation process the Ateis IDA8 system was able to meet all the criteria of a fully compliant, robust, compact and easily maintainable system, whilst also providing a cost-effective solution.”

Ateis UK’s managing director, Neil Voce, added: “The IDA8 is a unique product and sets a precedent for PA/VA solutions. It’s full potential has not been explored fully and we hope to highlight many of its innovative features at Paddington’s new underground station.”
