The two-day event – which took place during the time-frame of the PALME Middle East exhibition – provided distributors and systems integrators with information on new products and recent business developments.

In particular, visitors were brought up-to-speed with the well-publicised acquisition of DIS and Informationsteknik by Shure, which was announced in February.

Approximately 20 people – drawn from countries including Afghanistan, Iran, Kuwait, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE – had the opportunity to engage with the latest DIS innovations, among them the CP 7801 camera control package, BM 6620 boundary microphone and GM 6622 shotgun gooseneck microphone.

Christoph Hellmuth, area sales manager for DIS Middle East, told IE: “The annual DIS Seminar in Dubai has already established itself as an important event for our distributors and dealers. Attendees get the opportunity [to hear] DIS company and product news right from the source. DIS general manager Thomas Frederiksen gave details on the acquisition by Shure, while Kevan Jones – who recently won an award for being the ‘most significant individual in the Middle East pro-audio, lighting or AV industry – [was] employed as an external speaker during the seminar.

“It was a very successful event and all participants were happy about DIS product plans and schedules.”
