Crestron UK managing director Robin van Meeuwen used the Home Technology Event at London’s ExCel to reveal the winners in this year’s Crestron Integration Awards. Recognising the hard work, dedication and creativity of the company’s integrators, these annual accolades herald dealers who have truly embraced Crestron home technology and all its possibilities.
In announcing the winners, Robin van Meeuwen said: “Every year I am amazed by the scope of projects our integrators are completing – each year I think I’ve seen it all, and then every time we sit down to scrutinise the entries, I am delighted to see more examples of excellence. Taking part in these awards takes both time and effort and we would like to thank everyone who took the time out to support the initiative with their submissions. The standard of entries is testament to the high quality of Crestron integration being carried out by our dealers. It is a privilege to see what is being achieved with our technology and to recognise the hard work of those who have helped us get to where we are today.”

Brilliant Lighting Control & Design Winner: ClearSphere for Devon Barn; a project which stood out for its variety of light sources and effects.
Most Extreme Makeover Winner: LairdKing for Velinji: Moving from an initial request to upgrade Sky to Sky HD and distribute the feed around this Cornish property, LairdKing inspired its client to think beyond these modest ambitions. The result is a fully integrated Crestron system that can be accessed even when the client is away from home in Australia.
Ultimate Connected Home below 500,000 euros Winner: E-Life for Grovelands: this self-build project demonstrates E-Life pushing the boundaries of smart home technology to deliver a state of the art building control system with a high end AV system.
Ultimate Connected Home over 500,000 euros Winner: Fusion Automation for Mayfair Penthouse; this very significant Crestron project delivers an exceptional system, for one of the world’s most exclusive penthouse apartments. A breathtaking install, Fusion have devised and installed a truly exceptional automation system, which links the client’s homes around the world, and in London covers three 52” outdoor screens, 20 indoor TVs and covers the top two penthouse floors of the property, plus two basement floors. Everything is controlled: car lifts, spa equipment, a telepresence from Cisco, video conferencing suites, perimeter protection, CCTV intruder alarms and the entire roof top terrace.
Best Hi-Rise category Winner: Prestige Audio for St Pancras Apartment; an ‘original and versatile’ integrated solution. One intuitive, easy to operate Crestron system integrates the AV, lighting, HVAC, access control and security systems in this sky-high property with control provided by TPS-6L touch-panels fitted in the principal rooms. Ease of use was a key factor on this project, so simple touch-screen layouts and engraved buttons prevail. And what does a high-rise property need, but a Crestron controlled lift! Prestige Audio has effectively integrated operation of the private Otis lift into the control system. If the property is occupied, the lift call must be authorised from the Crestron panels.
Most Innovative Control Solution Winner: Custom Controls for London Townhouse: as the first installation of Digital Media in the country, this project was innovative in the true sense of the word. As inaugural installations go, this one is certainly pretty impressive. But, if you thought that Custom Controls were fazed about being responsible for the first DM installation the UK has every seen, then you wouldn’t know it. In addition to the technical challenges, the system installation was also completed in a tight, one month timescale.
Best International Home Winner: iteQ Group for Ibizan Villa; an ‘enviable’ install. This gorgeous villa has been installed with varied forms of audiovisual technology, even in the sauna room. It boasts a ‘drop down’ ceiling mounted plasma screen and surround sound to give an overall relaxing atmosphere.
Most Creative GUI Winner: Ultamation for a great example of control technology that is simple to operate and as intuitive as possible.
