Denon has followed the introduction of the white design of the CEOL Network Music System in late 2010 with a new gloss black version.

As with the existing version, the new CEOL Noir offers a variety of media playback possibilities. The RCD-N7 compact network CD receiver lets users dock their iPod or iPhone into a dedicated cradle to enjoy music with high quality digital sound, or to listen to more than 15,000 Internet radio stations worldwide.

Meanwhile, broadband connection via wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) or Ethernet cable allows users to enjoy their music anywhere in the home. Support for WPS is said to facilitate easy Wi-Fi connection, with users able to enjoy benefits such as playing music files from a PC or directly from DLNA network hard disks.

The system also plays CDs, FM/AM radio and music files recorded on USB memory or other portable media, while AirPlay music streaming capability allows users to stream music directly from an iPod touch, iPhone, iPad or iTunes library.

The specification is rounded out by 65W + 65W output power and high-grade amplification. The SC-N7 speaker system, which can be used to complement the CEOL Noir, features 12cm bass-mid driver, 2.5cm balance dome tweeter, MDF wooden cabinet and gloss black finish.

The CEOL Noir will be available throughout Europe from September onwards and will cost £500 without speakers.
